Michigan Compiled Laws, Chapter 333. Health § 333.2823a

(a) If the live birth occurs in an institution or en route to an institution, the place of birth must be listed as the institution.

(b) If the live birth occurs in or en route to a freestanding birth center licensed under article 17,  1 the place of birth must be listed as the freestanding birth center.

(c) If the live birth occurs in a home, the place of birth must be listed as “home”.
