Sec. 20956. (1) A medical first responder, an emergency medical technician, an emergency medical technician specialist, or a paramedic shall not provide life support at a level that is inconsistent with his or her education, licensure, and approved medical control authority protocols.
(2) A medical first responder, emergency medical technician, emergency medical technician specialist, or paramedic may perform techniques required in implementing a field study authorized under section 20910(1)(h) 1 if he or she receives training for the skill, technique, procedure, or equipment involved in the field study.
