Sec. 447. Immediately after an individual is received at a hospital for hospitalization under section 423 or 438, 1 or for examination under any provision of this chapter, he or she shall be allowed to complete a reasonable number of telephone calls to persons of his or her own choice. In no event shall the calls be limited to less than 2. If the individual has insufficient funds on his or her person, at least 2 calls shall be allowed at the expense of the hospital.
