Sec. 178. New frozen desserts not conforming to existing standards shall be manufactured in accordance with sanitation standards established in this act and shall also comply with the bacteria count standards, coliform determinations, and storage temperatures where applicable, set forth in section 70. 1 A person, firm, or corporation, before manufacturing and marketing any frozen dessert or mix which varies from the standards set forth in this act, shall notify the department of its intent to manufacture or market a frozen dessert or mix and shall submit for review and approval a proposed copy of the label for the new frozen dessert or mix.
