Sec. 24a. (1) A political party caucus of the state house of representatives may maintain 1 house political party caucus committee. A political party caucus of the state house of representatives shall not maintain more than 1 house political party caucus committee. Not later than 30 days after the effective date of this section, the leader of each political party caucus of the state house of representatives shall establish or designate the independent committee that is the house political party caucus committee under this section. Not later than 30 days after the effective date of this section, a political party caucus of the state house of representatives shall dissolve all independent committees established by that political party caucus under this act before the effective date of this section, other than the designated house political party caucus committee under this subsection.
(2) A political party caucus of the state senate may maintain 1 senate political party caucus committee. A political party caucus of the state senate shall not maintain more than 1 senate political party caucus committee. Not later than 30 days after the effective date of this section, the leader of each political party caucus of the state senate shall establish or designate the independent committee that is the senate political party caucus committee under this section. Not later than 30 days after the effective date of this section, a political party caucus of the state senate shall dissolve all independent committees established by that political party caucus under this act before the effective date of this section, other than the designated senate political party caucus committee under this subsection.
