Except as provided in section 804, when there is a vacancy in the office of presidential elector, the Secretary of State shall declare the vacancy under section 362-A and notify the appropriate state committee of the deadline for choosing a qualified person to fill the vacancy. The procedure outlined in section 363 must be followed.
