A. The department is hereby authorized to promulgate regulations governing the issuance of permits, including the collection of reasonable fees therefor, for the erection and maintenance of outdoor advertising coming within the exceptions contained in Paragraphs (1), (4), and (5) of R.S. 48:461.2(A), consistent with the safety and welfare of the traveling public, and as may be necessary to carry out the policy of the state as declared in this Part, and consistent with the national standards promulgated by the secretary of commerce pursuant to Title 23, United States Code. 1
B. Repealed by Acts 1989, No. 382, § 2, eff. June 30, 1989; Acts 1990, No. 6, § 2, eff. June 4, 1990.
C. Initial and renewal permit fees as provided in this Section shall not be assessed against any church for a sign on its property or anyone who does not charge a fee to churches for advertising on its facilities.
