A. The state registrar of vital records is authorized to amend an original birth certificate in accordance with Louisiana law.
B. Any change in the surname of a child from that required or allowed in R.S. 40:34.2 shall be made by court order as provided in R.S. 13:4751 through 4755 or as otherwise provided in this Chapter or by rules promulgated thereunder.
