A. Any local housing authority established under any prior law relating to housing authorities or local housing authorities and in existence on August 15, 1997 shall have continued existence under this Chapter, shall have all the powers conferred by this Chapter and existing under law immediately prior to the effective date of the Act which originated as Senate Bill No. 1548 of the 1997 Regular Session of the Legislature, August 15, 1997, and shall continue to own its property and conduct its operations consistent with this Chapter.
B. All commissioners of such authority and all officers, legal counsel, technical experts, directors, and other appointees or employees of such authority holding office or employment on August 15, 1997 by virtue of any such prior law shall be deemed to have been appointed or employed under this Chapter.
