The Louisiana Department of Health in addition to other powers and duties conferred upon it by this Chapter, is hereby designated as the sole agency:
(1) For carrying out the purposes of the National Mental Health Act, Public Law 79-487. 1
(2) For carrying out the purposes of the Maternal and Child Health and Mental Retardation Planning Amendments of 1963, Title VII of Public Law 88-156 in relation to planning. 2
(3) For carrying out the Mental Retardation Facilities Construction Act, Part C of Title I of Public Law 88-164. 3
(4) For carrying out the purposes of the Community Mental Health Centers Act, Title II of Public Law 88-164. 4
(5) For carrying out the purposes of the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration Reorganization Act, Public Law 102-321. 5
(6) To administer any and all federal grants in aid funds awarded to the state of Louisiana and any state funds that may be appropriated or made available by the legislature for the establishment and conduct of an approved mental health and developmental disabilities program in the state of Louisiana as contemplated by the provisions of the foregoing federal laws or the provisions of any state law relating to the subjects of this Section.
