A. In creating a commission pursuant to this Subpart, the town council and the police jury shall, by mutual agreement, designate the date upon which the powers, duties, and authority of the commission shall take effect. Until such time, the planning commission for the town of Haughton shall be continued with all its powers and duties, and by the designated date, the planning commission for the town of Haughton shall turn over to the commission all of its records, plans, studies, or other instruments of its work and planning.
B. Upon the designated date, the powers of the planning commission for the town of Haughton in conflict with the provisions of this Subpart shall cease to exist; however, such plans or parts thereof as have been lawfully adopted by the planning commission for the town of Haughton, including but not limited to the subdivision regulations, major street plan, and zoning plan, shall continue in effect and shall be administered by the commission until repealed or replaced by the commission in accordance with this Subpart.
