The Lafayette Parish School Board, by adoption of a resolution, may limit the number of terms of office which any member of the board may serve to three consecutive four-year terms. Such resolution may be adopted by the board only after the question of such term limitation has been submitted to and approved by a majority of the qualified electors of Lafayette Parish who vote on the proposition at a regularly scheduled election held in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code. 1
