The employer of any active, contributing member of the Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana, who purchased up to four years of military service credit with the system under the provisions of Acts 1972, No. 526 1, is hereby authorized to pay the employer's contribution plus any interest by reimbursing said employee for not more than the amount of the employer's contribution plus interest that the employee paid to the system to purchase such military service credit. In the event that the employer of a member decides to reimburse the member for payment by the member of the employer's contribution pursuant to this Section, then the employer shall reimburse all other members who make similar application.
