A. A member of the police department retired because of disability received while in the performance of his duty shall submit to examination by the department physician every six months.
B. The department physician shall report his findings to the board, which shall remove the member from the disability list if the report of the physician shows that he no longer has a disability. When the report shows that the member no longer has a disability and can resume his duties as a police officer, the department head shall restore him to employment in the department with the rank and grade enjoyed at the time of his removal from service.
