All district personnel providing emergency services outside the district as provided in this chapter, or area normally served by the consolidated emergency services district, shall be considered as serving in their regular line of duty as fully as if they were serving within the limits of their own district, but full-paid emergency personnel shall receive no additional compensation and volunteer emergency service personnel shall receive only such compensation provided for by district bylaws or administrative rules in these cases, and all such emergency services personnel shall be entitled to all benefits of any pension fund, in the same manner as if the provision of emergency services had been within the limits of the district.
