Kansas Statutes Chapter 49. Mines and Mining § 49-402b. Appropriations, unexpended balances transferred, use; officers and employees, liability for accrued compensation assumed by department of health and environment

(a) On the effective date of this act, the balance of all funds appropriated and reappropriated to the state corporation commission for the activities of the mined-land conservation and reclamation board is hereby transferred to the Kansas department of health and environment and shall be used only for the purpose for which the appropriation was originally made.

(b) On the effective date of this act, the liability for all accrued compensation or salaries of all officers and employees who, immediately prior to such date, were engaged in the performance of powers, duties or functions of any state agency, board or office abolished by this act, or which becomes a part of the Kansas department of health and environment, or the powers, duties and functions of which are transferred to the secretary of the Kansas department of health and environment, shall be assumed and paid by the Kansas department of health and environment.
