Kansas Statutes Chapter 45. Public Records, Documents and Information § 45-414 State archivist; duties; recommendations; certification by electronic signature; fees

(a) The state archivist shall prepare and present recommendations, to be approved by the state records board, based on national and professional standards as determined by the state archivist, for preservation processes for maintaining the authenticity of electronic government records.

(b) Electronic records maintained pursuant to subsection (a), when certified with the electronic signature of the state archivist, shall be considered to have all the legal force and effect as the original record.

(c) Reasonable fees may be charged for the preparation and certification of such electronic copies.

(d) This section shall be part of and supplemental to the government records preservation act, K.S.A. 45-401 et seq.
