Municipalities operating airports jointly are hereby authorized to cooperate with the federal government, or any federal agency, and the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, and to use such funds as may be available, or which may hereafter become available for the acquisition, operation and maintenance of such airports in such manner as will comply with the provisions of federal acts and to do all the things necessary to be done in order to comply therewith, or the rules and regulations thereunder.
