Kansas Statutes Chapter 17. Corporations § 17-7914. Filing by telefacsimile or electronic communication

(a) Any document required to be filed by this act with the secretary of state may be filed by telefacsimile communication. If such telefacsimile communication is accompanied with the appropriate fees, and meets the statutory requirements, it shall be effective upon its filing date or future effective date as prescribed in the document. The secretary of state shall prescribe a telefacsimile communication fee in addition to any filing fees to cover the cost of the services. The fee must be paid prior to acceptance of a telefacsimile communication under this section. The telefacsimile communication fee shall be deposited into the information and services fee fund.

(b) As used in this act, “telefacsimile communication” means the use of electronic equipment to send or transfer a document. This section shall not be construed so as to require the secretary of state to accept any filing through electronic mail. The secretary of state may designate acceptable types or formats of telefacsimile communication for filing documents pursuant to this act.

(c) This section shall take effect on and after January 1, 2015.
