Sec. 2. (a) There is hereby created and established a board of registration for architects and landscape architects, which shall consist of five (5) members, who shall be appointed by the governor.
(b) All appointments:
(1) before July 1, 2019, shall be made for terms of three (3) years, ending on December 31, serving the term for which the member shall have been appointed and until the member's successor shall have been appointed and shall have qualified; and
(2) after June 30, 2019, shall be made according to IC 25-1-6.5.
(c) A member of the board may be removed under IC 25-1-6.5-4.
(d) Each member of the board shall be entitled to receive as compensation for the member's services a salary per diem for each and every day the member may be engaged in attending the meetings or transacting the business of the board; in addition thereto each member shall be entitled to receive as reimbursement all traveling and other necessary expenses incurred in the performance of the member's duties as a member of the board in accordance with travel policies and procedures established by the department of administration and the state budget agency.
(e) Subject to 25-1-6.5-3, each member of the board shall be a citizen of the United States of America and a resident of the state of Indiana.
(f) Three (3) of the members must be registered architects under this chapter. Preferably these members would have at least ten (10) years of active architectural practice preceding the member's appointment.
(g) One (1) member of the board must be registered as a landscape architect under this chapter. Preferably this member would have at least ten (10) years of active landscape architectural practice preceding the member's appointment.
(h) One (1) member of the board, to represent the general public, shall be a resident of this state who has never been associated with the architecture or landscape architecture profession in any way other than as a consumer.
