Sec. 12. It shall be the duty of the division of weights and measures of the Indiana department of health to enforce all the provisions of this chapter, and it shall prescribe such rules as it may find necessary for carrying into effect the provisions of this chapter, and shall cause such examinations and tests to be made as may be necessary in order to determine whether hampers, round stave baskets, splint baskets, climax baskets, and baskets or containers for berries or other small fruits and vegetables, or parts thereof, subject to this chapter, meet its requirements. For this purpose, the authorized officers and agents of the division of weights and measures may visit factories, stock rooms, and other places of business where such hampers, baskets, and containers, or parts thereof, are manufactured or held for sale or shipment, or offered for sale, and may enter cars, vessels, other vehicles, and places under the control of carriers engaged in the transportation of such hampers, baskets, and containers, or parts thereof, and may take samples of such hampers, baskets, and boxes, or parts thereof or, upon written request from the division of weights and measures or its authorized agents. Any manufacturers, shippers, carriers, or holders of such hampers, baskets, and containers or parts thereof shall furnish samples of such hampers, baskets, and containers, or parts thereof, as are required for the purpose of inspection as in this chapter provided.
