§ 8. Whenever by virtue of the provisions of Section 7 of this Act an employee seeks to exercise any right or remedy provided in the Workers' Compensation Act, 1 the period of limitation, except as in this Act otherwise provided, shall be the same as under the Workers' Compensation Act, and where applicable shall begin to run from the date of disablement instead of the date of accident.
