§ 8. The invalidity or unconstitutionality of any one or more provisions, parts, or sections of this Act shall not be held or construed to invalidate the whole or any other provision, part, or section thereof, it being intended that this Act shall be sustained and enforced to the fullest extent possible and that it shall be construed as liberally as possible to prevent refusals, denials, and discriminations of and with reference to the award of contracts and employment thereunder, on the ground of race, color, creed, sex, religion, physical or mental disability unrelated to ability, or national origin.
