Illinois Statutes Chapter 770. Liens § 60/36. Wrongful sale or removal of materials

§ 36. Any owner, contractor, sub-contractor or other person who shall purchase materials on credit and represent at the time of purchase that the same are to be used in a designated building or buildings, or other improvement, and shall thereafter sell, use or cause to be used the said materials in the construction of, or remove the same to any building or improvement other than that designated, or dispose of the same for any purpose, without the written consent of the person of whom the materials were purchased, with intent to defraud such person, shall be deemed guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
