Illinois Statutes Chapter 765. Property § 505/5. Penalty for trespass

§ 5. Whoever shall willfully trespass upon the land of another by mining thereon, shall, in addition to the damages now authorized by law, be liable to a penalty not to exceed $500, which may be recovered by the owner thereof, in the circuit court of the county where the land is situated.
