§ 5-104. Except as provided in this Article, no trustee, officer or employee of a fire protection district or fire department having a mutual aid agreement with such district, nor any such fire protection district or department, shall be liable for damage caused to bridges and roads thereon, owned by the State or by a unit of local government, when such damage is caused by fire fighting equipment crossing bridges and roads thereon, for which load limits are lower than the weight of such equipment, when responding to an alarm or returning therefrom.
