§ 16.14. Annually, at any time the corporate authorities may provide, the board of fire commissioners shall submit to the board of trustees a report of its activities, and of the rules in force and the practical effect thereof. In this report the board of fire commissioners may make suggestions which it believes would result in greater efficiency or safety in the fire department. The board of trustees shall respond in writing to any such suggestions within 60 days of receipt, setting forth their acceptance or rejection of such suggestions, with the specific reasons for either.
The board shall also submit an annual budget request to the trustees of the district prior to the end of the fiscal year or as may be requested by the trustees. The trustees shall provide adequate funding in the annual appropriation ordinance for the operation of the board.
