§ 8-11. Detachment--Land Lying in Two Districts. When any land lies within the boundaries of 2 districts and such land is not connected to a district drain in one of the districts and is not and cannot presently be benefited or protected by the work of that district, the landowner and the commissioners of that district may jointly petition the court to detach such land from that district. The petition may be heard without notice or upon such notice as the court may direct. The remedy provided by this section shall be considered cumulative, and it shall not operate to deprive the owner of such land of the right to have his land detached from a district in the manner provided elsewhere in this Article.
