§ 5-15. Original Assessments--Appeals. The commissioners or any other interested party may appeal as in other civil cases from a judgment on any assessment in the same time and manner as is now or may hereafter be provided for taking an appeal from a judgment on the Collector's application for judgment and order of sale for delinquent general taxes. Such appeals may be joint or separate. The taking of an appeal by any one or more persons as to any one or more tracts of land or property shall not operate to defer the collection of the assessments confirmed by such judgment on any other tract of land or property not involved in such appeal, but the collection in such other cases shall proceed as if no appeal had been taken. When, on any such appeal, the cause is remanded for a new trial, then the judgment entered upon such new trial shall make reference to the part of the judgment, if any, not appealed from, and if any assessment be confirmed, the time of payment and rate of interest thereon shall correspond, as nearly as practicable, to the time of payment and interest on the part of the judgment not appealed from.
