Illinois Statutes Chapter 70. Special Districts § 2605/5.10. Reappropriations on termination of fiscal year; objects

§ 5.10. If at the termination of any fiscal year the appropriations necessary for the support of the said district for the ensuing budget year shall not have been made, the several amounts appropriated in the last appropriation ordinance for the objects and functions therein specified, so far as the same shall relate to the construction, operation and maintenance expenses, including making payments on existing contracts, advertising for and receiving bids and letting contracts, and making payments for necessary expenses, salaries and wages and making payments of principal and interest on bonds and on tax anticipation warrants and making payments for unpaid bills, shall be deemed to be reappropriated for the several objects and functions specified in said last appropriation ordinance; and until a subsequent budget is legally passed, the proper financial officer shall make the payments necessary for the support of the district on the basis of the appropriations of the preceding fiscal year.
