§ 2-17. In existing Pleasure Driveway and Park Districts nominations of candidates for the office of president and trustee shall be made only by petition in the manner as provided for independent candidates in the general election law. The petition shall be signed by qualified voters in the district equal in number to not less than 2% of the number who voted at the last preceding election for trustees in the district, but in no case by fewer than 25 voters. The secretary of such board shall certify the names of the candidates to the appropriate election authorities, who shall conduct such election at the time and in the manner provided by the general election law.
