§ 2. The corporate authorities of any city, village or incorporated town may form on-site wastewater disposal zones to protect the public health, to prevent and abate nuisances, to protect existing and future beneficial water use, to achieve compliance with regulations of the Pollution Control Board and to achieve compliance with any other statutes or requirements regarding public health or environmental protection. Whenever an on-site wastewater disposal zone has been formed pursuant to this Act, the municipality shall have the powers set forth in this Act, which powers shall be in addition to any other powers provided by law.
