§ 8-4-24. Whenever bonds have been issued by any municipality for the purpose of constructing an incinerator, and the corporate authorities decide that such project is not feasible and substitute a different method of refuse disposal, they may adopt an ordinance ordering the submission to the electors of a proposition to use the proceeds of such bond issue, or any balance thereof, for some other specified municipal purpose. The clerk shall certify such question to the proper election authority who shall submit the proposition at an election in accordance with the general election law.
