§ 4-8-4. A person who, for the purpose of influencing an elector's vote at any election under this article, offers to give the elector a bribe, either in money, treats, or other consideration, or by agreeing to appoint him to an office or employment under this article, or an elector under this article who requests, receives, or accepts such a bribe, or who agrees to vote for or support any candidate or nominee in consideration that the elector will be appointed to an office or employment under this article, is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor.
