§ 11-67-2. Whenever, in a specified municipality not less than 5% of the electors voting at the last preceding general municipal election petition the municipal clerk for the submission to a referendum vote the proposition of establishing and maintaining a municipal coliseum, the municipal clerk shall certify the proposition for submission at an election in accordance with the general election law. The proposition shall be substantially in the following form:

If a majority of the votes cast upon the proposition are in favor thereof, a municipal coliseum shall be established and maintained in that municipality.
