§ 11-142-2. Section 11-142-1 shall be in force in any municipality in which “An Act to provide for a tax for the operation and maintenance of sewage treatment and disposal plants in municipalities which are not in any sanitary district,” approved May 2, 1932, has been heretofore adopted and was in force immediately prior to January 1, 1942. Section 11-142-1 shall not be in force in any other municipality until the question of its adoption is certified by the clerk and submitted to the electors of the municipality at an election in accordance with the general election law, and approved by a majority of those voting thereon.

If a majority of the electors of the municipality voting on the question vote in favor of adopting Section 11-142-1, it shall become operative in that municipality.
