§ 11-122.1-2. Any municipality may contract for the operation of privately owned, local passenger transportation system or a portion thereof within its corporate limits or within a radius of one-half mile thereof upon terms satisfactory to it and to the owner of such system. By the contract, the municipality may bind itself to pay to the owner and operator such sums as may be agreed upon by the municipality.
