§ 10-4-6. In municipalities of more than 500,000 population, applications for examination for and appointment to positions as firefighters or police shall be made available at various branches of the public library of the municipality. It is declared to be the law of this State, pursuant to paragraph (g) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution, that this Section is a denial of the power of a home rule unit to fail to make applications available as required by this Section.
