§ 21-42. Redistricting ordinance submitted--When in effect. If the question of the adoption of one of two or more redistricting ordinances is submitted to the voters at any election, the ordinance for which the highest number of votes is cast shall be deemed approved and shall thereupon be in force and effect. If the question of the adoption of but one such ordinance is submitted at any election and a majority of the votes cast thereon are for the adoption of such ordinance, it shall thereupon be in force and effect; otherwise such ordinance shall not go into effect.
