Illinois Statutes Chapter 620. Air Transportation § 40/5. Roadways and approaches; removal of hazards; rules and regulations

§ 5. The county board of every county has the power to establish, maintain, extend and improve roadways and approaches by land, water or air to any airport and to contract or otherwise provide, by condemnation if necessary, for the removal of any airport hazard or the removal or relocation of all private structures, railways, mains, pipes, conduits, wires, poles, and all other facilities and equipment which may interfere with the location, expansion, development, or improvement of airports or with the safe approach thereto or take off therefrom by aircraft, and to pay the cost of removal or relocation; and, to adopt, administer and enforce airport zoning regulations for and within the county and within any territory outside the county which extends not more than 2 miles beyond the boundaries of any Airport under the County Board's control, and to make all reasonable rules and regulations for air traffic and airport or landing field conduct, and for the management and control of such an airport or landing field and other air navigation facilities and property under the county board's control. These rules and regulations shall not be in conflict with the laws of this State, or the laws or regulations of the United States, or the regulations of the Illinois Commerce Commission or the Department of Transportation of this State.
