§ 20. The Department of Natural Resources shall obtain data and information as to the availability of the various streams of Illinois for water power, and preserve all such data, and report to the Governor and the general assembly such facts as to the amount of water power which can be so developed, from time to time, as in its judgment should be communicated, looking to the preservation of the rights of the State of Illinois in the water power and navigation of this State.
The requirement for reporting to the General Assembly shall be satisfied by filing copies of the report as required by Section 3.1 of the General Assembly Organization Act, 1 and filing such additional copies with the State Government Report Distribution Center for the General Assembly as is required under paragraph (t) of Section 7 of the State Library Act. 2
