§ 3-10001. Election of county treasurer; commencement of duties. In all counties there shall be an elected treasurer who shall hold office until his successor shall be qualified. He shall enter upon the duties of his office on the first day in the month of December following his election on which the office of the county treasurer is required, by statute or by action of the county board, to be open.
