§ 8. Duties and authority of State Seed Law enforcement officer. The duty of enforcing this Act and carrying out its provisions and requirements is vested in the Illinois Department of Agriculture. It is the duty of the Director who may act through his authorized agents to sample, inspect, make analysis of, and test agricultural, vegetable or other seeds designated by the Department of Agriculture transported, sold, or offered or exposed for sale within the State for sowing purposes at such time and place and to such an extent as he may deem necessary to determine whether said agricultural, vegetable or other seeds designated by the Department of Agriculture are in compliance with the provisions of this Act and to notify promptly the person who transported, sold, offered, or exposed the seed for sale, of any violation.
