§ 6.7. Certification and decertification procedures under Act exclusive. Notwithstanding any other law, the certification and decertification procedures, including the conduct of any investigation or hearing, under this Act are the sole and exclusive procedures for certification as law enforcement officers in Illinois and are not subject to collective bargaining under the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act or appealable except as set forth herein. The provisions of any collective bargaining agreement adopted by a law enforcement agency and covering the law enforcement officer or officers under investigation shall be inapplicable to any investigation or hearing conducted under this Act.

An individual has no property interest in law enforcement certification at the time of initial certification or at any time thereafter, including, but not limited to, after decertification or after the officer's certification has been deemed inactive. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to create a requirement that a law enforcement agency shall continue to employ a law enforcement officer who has been decertified.
