§ 2. It is unlawful for any person holding an elective office in this State, holding a seat in the General Assembly, or appointed to or employed in any of the offices of State government, or who is an officer or employee of the Illinois Building Authority or the Illinois Toll Highway Authority, or who is the wife, husband, child, grandparent, parent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, brother, sister, first cousin, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law of any such person to have or acquire any contract, or any direct or indirect pecuniary interest in any grant or contract issued pursuant to this Act.
Any person convicted of a violation of this Section is guilty of a business offense and shall be fined not more than $2,500.
