§ 6. Employee education program. (a) By January 1, 1987, every business required to develop a Chemical Safety Contingency Plan for a facility shall develop and implement an employee education program to ensure that all personnel responsible for implementing the Chemical Safety Contingency Plan at that facility are familiar with the procedures to be followed if there is a release of a chemical substance, unless otherwise included under the requirements of subsection (b) of this Section. The program shall include annual instruction of the appropriate employees on the plan, and documentation that the action has been completed.
(b) Every business, that has been notified in writing by the IEMA of the applicability of this Act under the last paragraph of the definition of “business” in Section 3, shall comply with the provisions of subsection (a) of this Section within 180 days of the receipt of the notification.
