§ 2. As used in this Act “multiple dwelling” means any dwelling containing 5 or more independent housing units which are rented, leased, let or hired out to the tenant for use as a residence.
This Act shall not apply to hotels, apartment hotels, motels, dormitories, hospitals, convents or public institutions.
