§ 10. MRSA prevention, control, and reporting. In order to improve the prevention of infections due to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (“MRSA”), the following MRSA prevention, control, and reporting activities are applicable to State residential facilities:
(1) Guidelines. State residential facilities shall develop and utilize policies and procedures for MRSA prevention, control, and reporting that are in compliance with federal guidelines and consistent with the operational needs of affected agencies.
(2) Minimum standards. Procedural MRSA Prevention and Control Guidelines shall include, but not be limited to, recommendations and requirements for screening and surveillance, education and training, hygiene, sanitation, and infection control.
(3) Reporting. State residential facilities shall comply with Department of Public Health rules and regulations for reporting of communicable diseases, including MRSA.
