§ 3-1000. (a) A person may be admitted pursuant to any of the provisions of this Chapter to a mental health facility of the United States government when the facility determines that services for the person are available and that the person is eligible to receive them. A person so admitted is subject to the rules and regulations of the Veterans Administration or other agency of the United States government which operates the facility in which such treatment is provided.
(b) The chief officer of such facility has with respect to a person admitted under this Chapter, the same powers and duties as the facility director.
(c) A person employed by the Veterans Administration as a physician may perform the functions of a physician under this Act insofar as relates to a person who is or is proposed to be admitted to a Veterans Administration facility.
