§ 8-229. Salary of employees on leave of absence. The salary of an employee on leave of absence from a position held by certification and appointment as a result of competitive civil service or career service examination for not less than 10 years immediately preceding such leave, who holds another office or position in the service as an employee, shall be considered to be the larger of the salary attached to either of such positions and employee contributions for the purposes of the fund shall be made on such basis.
